Ann Richards Purple Cheese

Ann Richards (b. 1996), raised in Saskatchewan and currently practicing on the unceded traditional territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil ̱ -Waututh) Nations. A young artist based in print, she places importance on surrendering into one's intuition, allowing the process itself to consume and guide her, often claiming the traces of this process as the finished piece. She remains an artist focused on the technical understanding of print, while making imagery that accepts the discipline of the accident. Ann holds a BFA from UBC and has been a member of Malaspina Printmakers since 2019.
