Join us for a fun evening of experimental printmaking in an open studio setting! In this hands on workshop participants will create imagery by printing found objects. You will have the opportunity to explore both collograph and monotype printing techniques in a welcoming space. If you are unsure what collograph or monotype means, no worries! Come and find out :) They are both ways of creating textural images from found objects.
All the materials (including the found objects) are provided, but you will be able to bring in your own objects to experiment with if you choose! Some examples of objects are: leaves, burlap, fabrics, interesting tape, crushed cans, anything flattish will do!
This is an fun and experimental approach to printmaking and you can expect to finish the workshop with around 4 unique 9" x 13" prints and hands on experience operating a traditional etching press.
