Marie Price was born in Winnipeg and currently lives and works in Vancouver. In 1968, she graduated in nursing from Saint Boniface Hospital (Winnipeg). She worked as a post-surgical nurse until 1990. She subsequently earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in visual arts from the University of Manitoba (Winnipeg) in 1977. She was a drawing instructor at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts (Burnaby) and has been producing her artwork at Malaspina Printmakers (Vancouver) for over 30 years.

Price's work is informed by her medical background. Depictions of human figures are often collaged with references to time, such as clocks, labyrinths, bones, and significant dates in human history. She combines new technology, such as digital pigment printing, with traditional techniques, such as intaglio and chine collé, to create unique monoprints. Her current exhibition, titled Some Assembly Required, includes four bodies of recent work.
