Join us for Malaspina’s Open House & Fundraiser at Howe Street Studios!

Discover the work of local artists, enjoy a drink, take home some art, and explore our interdisciplinary artist facilities in the heart of downtown Vancouver!

While the event takes place at Howe Street Studios, the community it supports extends across both of Malaspina’s locations, including our original home on Granville Island. Together, our facilities provide accessible space for traditional and contemporary printmaking, alongside emerging interdisciplinary and material-based artistic practices.

Our spaces also support community organizations, including the Vancouver Metal Arts Association (VMAA) and Out On The Shelves (OOTS), helping sustain a broader network of accessible, community-led arts and cultural resources.

Every year, Malaspina provides more than $40,000 in subsidized studio access, offering 284 subsidies to 50 equity-seeking artists and community members. This fundraiser helps us keep those vital resources accessible!

When you purchase an artwork, you're supporting both local artists and accessible studio space. 50% of each sale goes directly to the artist, while the remaining 50% supports Malaspina’s subsidy program. Some artists have generously donated works, with 100% of proceeds going toward the program.

With artwork from printmakers, painters, photographers, sculptors, and metal artists, there will be something for everyone!

Come celebrate with us, explore the studios, discover new artwork, and help sustain a creative community where artists and community members can access the space, equipment, and resources they need to make art.
