Casanova tells a short fictional story of a dream, where the narrator meets Casanova at the Venice carnival. The story unfolds in a foggy surrounding through the reader advancing the vellum pages. One line of text is printed on each page, and the opacity of the vellum paper allows the reader to see about 2 lines of text at once. By advancing the pages, the text on the next page becomes clearer, simulating the experience of walking forward in a foggy environment with limited visibility.
