Donato Mancini Resources

Commissioned by Malaspina Printmakers for Institutions by Artists, the main work in this set, Resources (Cenotaph), draws from collaboratively compiled lists of artist run spaces, bars, and book- stores that formed, flourished and disappeared between the 1970s and the present day, revealing the relationship between the fugitive presence of artistic practice and the accelerated pace of urban development in Vancouver. Through the attendant works, the thematic range is broadened to pertinent questions of economy, labour, symbolic violence, and discursive relations of force.
