French language art workshop!

Join Stephane Bernard in pursuit of the harmonious relationship between squeegee, ink, and screen. This workshop covers the basics of stencil screen printing, various methods of image preparation and, of course, printing. Some basic knowledge of Photoshop CC is encouraged, but not mandatory.

Stéphane Bernard is an artist and writer presently living and working in Vancouver. He has a post-baccalauréat diploma from Simon Fraser University (2015) and bachelors degrees in both education (2010) and the visual arts (2012) from Université Laval, Quebec City. He received residencies from Malaspina Printmakers (2014-5) and from Engramme (2012), the Quebec City artist run centre devoted to the production and promotion of contemporary printmaking. In 2012, Bernard also participated in the first Nuit Blanche event in his hometown of Ottawa. As an educator, Bernard is employed with both the H. R. MacMillan Space Centre and the Vancouver Art Gallery, and he develops and coordinates the 'Kids First' programming at The Polygon Gallery in North Vancouver. His critical writing has been published in Kolaj and Issue Magazine.
