Join Lee McKay to explore relief printing through linocut. In this process, carving tools are used to create positive and negative shapes on a lino block, the block is then inked with a brayer and printed. In this class students will learn the basics of carving and printing a lino block using a printing press, hand printing methods will also be covered. Students will have the option of creating a single or multi-block print.

Lee McKay was born in Saskatoon and studied printmaking at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary from 1992 to 1996. He cofounded Burnt Toast Print Collective with four other ACAD graduates in 2001 in Calgary. His work has been shown across Canada, Czech Republic, Japan, Spain, and Portugal. He works primarily in relief and etching.
