Join Fei Gao this December for a fun day of festive mono printing. This one day workshop will introduce participants to printmaking using found and collected objects. All materials will be provided for the creation of holiday cards or postcards that can be mailed or gifted to loved ones you haven’t seen in a while.

Participants will be guided through using letterpress type, stencils, and textured objects to create unique prints. All the materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own objects to experiment. Some examples of textured objects include lace, dried leaves, yarn, or cloth.

Fei Gao is a Vancouver-based artist who was originated in Beijing, China. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alberta (Edmonton) in 2012. Her studies included the mediums of painting, printmaking, sculpture, and illustration. Working primarily in stone lithography, Gao joined the international emerging artists' exchange project with the China Academy of Art's printmaking department in 2017. The root of her work lies within observation and personal feelings in reacting to mundane life. Using stone lithography, Gao is able to reproduce the finest marks from her original drawings.
