Patricia Hutter is a painter and printmaker who is also a retired member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra bass section. After finishing her Bachelor of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music and subsequently joining the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra ,she began to study visual art at Emily Carr College of Art and Design (now Emily Carr University). She has shown her work in the Lower Mainland at Malaspina Printmakers Gallery, the Seymour Art Gallery, the Octavia Gallery, the Lambert Gallery, and the Lewarne Gallery. She has created a poster for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Music informs all of Patricia Hutter's visual art- sometimes with collaged print music fragments, images of instruments, (especially doublebass and piano, both of which she plays) or in totally abstract references to musical forms and composition techniques. She works in acrylic on canvas and in monoprint.
