student scholarship

Each year, Malaspina Printmakers awards studio space to print students. In 2010, we will be awarding 4 and 8-month scholarships.

The 4-month scholarships take place from May to August while the 8-month scholarships take place from September to April. The 4-month scholarships are aimed at students returning to their studies in the fall, but may also be awarded to recent graduates of print-based programs. The 8-month scholarships are aimed at assisting recent graduates with the transition to practicing artist.

Selection:

A jury will select the successful applicants based on a combination of factor including technical proficiency, artistic merit, and potential for development.

Submission:

·     CV

·     Artist Statement

·     Letter of Intent: how will the scholarship assist you and what do you intend to accomplish during the time

·     numbered image list

·     10 images of previous work (using Canada Council’s naming convention)

·     jpegs should not exceed 72-150 dpi

·     a letter of reference from one of your instructors

 

·     a completed application form

 

·     please print off a copy of all your documents

·     ensure your name is on every item submitted
