Andrea Taylor is a Vancouver-based multi-disciplinary artist working mainly with printmaking, painting, and video. Her practice focuses on the collective memory of images, and each of her works is simultaneously a personal exploration and an attempt to engage in conversation with other works and with the bodies and minds of the viewer. She is strongly influenced by 19th century photography and film, especially by experiments in film and photography and the practice of portraiture that developed in that period.
Andrea completed her Masters in Fine Art (Visual Arts) at the Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2014. She currently teaches at the Emily Carr University of Art + Design and works on her personal practice from her studio in Vancouver's 1000 Parker building. She has exhibited across North America and her work is held in both public and private collections across Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, and the U.S.
