Malaspina Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers in various areas to help us. For every hour that someone volunteers, they will receive a credit towards studio rental of $10. That is, 6 hours of volunteering will give someone a $60 credit towards studio rental. Please contact Andrea Pinheiro at 604-688-1724 if you are interested in volunteering.

We can use volunteers with a variety of skills in all areas of operation: Gallery Attendants, Exhibition Prepators/Installation, Studio Assistance, and Maintenance.

Gallery Attendants Duties
- showing prints for sale, processing purchases and membership renewals
- sweeping the gallery/washing windows as needed
- assisting with other projects as needed (mailouts, data entry, making file folders etc.)
Hours
- shifts are 11-5 on Saturdays and Sundays, and 12-5 during the week.
- shifts are scheduled on a monthly basis

Gallery Prepator Duties
- prepare the gallery for installation (spackling, painting)
- installing and de-installing artwork for exhibitions
Hours
- vary depending upon the exhibition being installed or de-installe Maintenance Duties
- sweep and mop the studio, gallery and bathroom - dispose of trash and recycling
- clean the bathroom, kitchen, and specific areas in the gallery/office
- other duties as assigned for your shift
Hours
- regular hours each week to be performed after 9pm and before 9am Number of Positions - 2 people, each working once a week

Bathroom “Reno” Duties
- to prepare the walls and ceiling for a new coat of paint
- paint the walls - scrub the floor Hours
- split into three shifts: one shift to prepare the space, one to paint the space, and one to scrub the floor
